La Tela Blogiversary + Giveaway!

May 9, 2017

In my heart, there are many dates to celebrate when I think about La Tela: the first post, the big redesign done by my amazing hubby, when it became trilingual, the first little money I earned through it. But it’s around a year ago that I realised that my blog was growing more and faster than I ever imagined, and that I could convert it into my main job.

Writing has always been my biggest passion, I became a journalist and decided to study translation to become a literature translator—the idea of translating other people’s novels always fascinated me, it was a bit like making literature of my own.

Little I knew that after a beautiful 10-year-long life parenthesis of language teaching, my dream of writing for a living would finally come true thanks to this little blog for mums I started as a hobby. Life is so unpredictable, which is why my favourite quote has always been:

You can never connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards.

Let's celebrate with a give-away!

On Monday I told you about the CityStroll2 by Choopie, a really thoughtful and practical 2-in-1 stroller organiser and shoulder bag. Today, to celebrate La Tela blogiversary with you, I’m giving one out! Yep, you heard me!

The blog

I write mainly about Montessori, parenthood, and multilingualism. Here are some recent posts.

Montessori
One day a few years ago my husband came home and said, "Why don't we put a mattress on the floor in the baby room? It'd be much more natural". "Never" was my reply. That's how our Montessori journey started. Since then we've been living, breathing and applying the philosophy at home day in and day out, starting from ourselves. Because educating children starts from the parents.

Living sustainably
Living sustainably for me doesn’t only mean to have a more eco-friendly lifestyle. It means to make decisions that are sustainable for our planet, the people on it, but also for our life, our lifestyle, and our happiness. It means to take any daily chance to evolve and be happier, healthier, kinder, more responsible and more caring human beings—the only sustainable way for a meaningful future.

Sostenibilità: come sensibilizzare i bambini e i giovani adulti | Con Cristiana Cerri Gambarelli

Instagram

I update Instagram almost every day to be "close" to my family far away.

Why La Tela di Carlotta?
I dreamed of the name La Tela di Carlotta. One morning I woke up and in my dreams I had created a blog named just like the American novel (Charlotte's Web). Many years and endless ups and downs later, this web of thoughts and stories is my work. It took me a long time to understand what kind of online presence I wanted and today I know: I'm transparent, I show real life, I don't advertise, I only recommend sustainable brands (and not only because they pay me) and I believe in the value of my blog and my courses—because if we don't believe in the value of our work, no one will believe in it for us.

I know! I don't want it to be over yet either.
